Sometimes a quick, small animation can have a big job to do. When Kia updated their brand with a totally new logo, I was tasked with creating a short, clean animation to introduce the change to the Mauritian market.
While I was at Moris Pub Ogilvy, we needed to create a simple visual to bridge the gap between the old Kia logo and the new one. The goal was to make the transition feel intentional, smooth, and modern. I created this short animation that literally "draws" the new logo out of the old one, showing the evolution from one to the other before revealing the new tagline, "Movement that inspires."
The whole animation is very clean and minimal. I wanted to keep the focus entirely on the logos themselves, without any extra distractions. The simple, textured background gives it a slightly more premium feel than just a flat white.
I'm really pleased with how the transition itself came out. I animated the lines of the new logo to build on screen in a way that feels rhythmic and deliberate, like a signature being written. It gives the new mark a sense of energy and purpose.
This project was a good reminder that even the smallest animations can play a crucial role in a brand's story. It was a fun challenge to take on a global rebrand and create a small piece of communication that made it feel clear, official, and full of momentum for our local audience.
