This project was a real joy to work on. The team at Oeudor wanted to give their brand a friendlier face, so I was tasked with not only designing a new family of mascots but also creating the animated video to introduce them to the world.
The brief was to create a set of simple, approachable mascots called "La Bande Oeudor" (The Oeudor Gang). The main creative task was to give each character a distinct and charming personality while making sure they all clearly belonged to the same family, using the same foundational egg shape. I then brought them to life in a short, playful video that revealed each one's name and quirky personality.
For the character design, my whole approach was "simple but distinct." I gave each egg a single, clear visual trait that instantly communicates who they are: Kolo the eco-warrior has a leaf sprout, Khari the foodie has a chef's hat, Sunny the gamer has a playful wink. It kept them clean and recognizable.
The video itself was a fun creative challenge. I wanted it to feel like a little surprise, so I used real-life footage of someone opening an egg carton, and then composited the animated characters inside. It was a simple trick to make the reveal feel more magical and grounded in the real world.
This project was a great opportunity to build a small world from the ground up—from designing the characters to giving them a personality in the final video. It’s a good example of how character design and simple motion graphics can come together to tell a charming story and make a brand feel so much more personal.
